BioMedIA successful at two computational challenges at MICCAI 2015

Members of the BioMedIA group have been very successful at this year’s MICCAI computational challenges. PhD student Konstantinos Kamnitsas has won the ISLES 2015 challenge with his approach based on Multi-Scale Convolutional Neural Nets. Master student Isabel Lopez was ranked 2nd in the Automatic Intervertebral Disc Segmentation from MRI with her approach using classification forests… Read more »

Imperial Neurotrauma Centre

The BioMedIA group is affiliated with the new Imperial Neurotrauma Centre. The centre’s vision is to use neuroscience and engineering advances to improve patient outcomes after neurotrauma. More details can be found on the centre’s website.

Imperial Festival Demo

We have demonstrated our work on Medical Augmented Reality at the 2015 Imperial Festival. It was great fun with lots of interaction with younger and older visitors.

UCL Medical Image Computing Summer School

We will be presenting at the UCL Medical Image Computing Summer School (MedICSS) which is organised by Dan Stoyanov and Tom Vercauteren. Together with James Cole, Peter Hellyer and Paul Aljabar we are co-organising the Symposium on Clinical Application of Machine Learning in Neuroimaging which is held in conjunction with the 2015 International Conference on Brain Informatics & Health, 30 August – 2 September, London, UK.
