LoRa Networks Powered by Ambient Energy Harvesting

This project aims at studying the potential of ambient energy harvesting in supporting diverse iot applications. The IoT devices are in general battery powered with limited capacity and deployed massively in hard to reach environments. Frequent battery replacement for IoTdevices is sometimes hard to happen frequently especially for IoT devices deployed in remote areas and in hard to reach environments. Energy harvesting from ambient sources and from radio frequency (RF) transmissions is a potential solution to extend the battery lifetimes. Energy can be harvested from solar, wind, vibrations or from energy RF signals.
