Dr. Yunxi Li finished his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University in 2015. His research mainly focused on fibre optics, communication theory, and information theory. He earned his MSc degree from UCL, where he was awarded the IEEE Best MSc Communication Project Prize in 2006 for his research in applying decision-feedback neural networks to compensate for fiber nonlinear and dispersion. He also holds a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University, China. Dr. Li joined Amey Plc in 2015 as a senior consultant/ data science specialist, and was involved in several projects of predictive asset maintenance for London Underground and Heathrow Airport, focusing on big data analytics, machine learning, and software development. Dr. Li used to work in the R&D Centre of Comba Telecom, where he developed several products used in 3G communication and managed their test and mass production. Dr. Li is the co-founder and CEO of Wiscont Co. Ltd., a UK-China joint venture specialising in big data and IoT research and applications.
