Ms Yathreb Bouazizi
Research Associate
Yathreb joined AESE Group as a PhD student in 2019. She received her Msc degree in ECE (electrical and computer engineering) from Georgia Institute of Technology. During her Msc studies, she was a research intern with the joint international research unit Georgia Tech-CNRS 2958, and she succeeded in Georgia Tech ECE Ph.D preliminary examination, which is a comprehensive qualifying exam that assesses students’ general and specialized knowledge to be eligible for a PhD. She had in addition a MEng (Diplôme d’Ingénieur ) in telecommunications from the higher school of communications of Tunis (Sup’Com).
Her research interests cover the broad area of low power wide area networks (LPWANS), modelling, performance analysis, resource allocation, and optimization. She is conducting her research under the Land and Liveability National Innovation Challenge (L2NIC) Research Programme funded by Singapore Ministry of National Development. As part of this multi-disciplinary project, she is dealing with the challenges related to wireless communication technologies (LoRa, NB-IoT) with a particular focus on LoRa, as a Low Powered Wide Area (LPWA) technology that reconciles wide-coverage, low-cost and low-energy requirements. To this end, she carried out deep investigations about LoRa patented physical layer, its signal theory and its modulation scheme and, she has used model-driven approaches based on statistical tools such as stochastic geometry and queuing theory to devise performance analysis frameworks for LoRa networks.
