Introducing the DiveIn CDT PhD Programme

The DiveIn CDT (Centre for Doctoral Training) PhD programme is a new doctoral training opportunity at the University of Glasgow. The programme represents a dynamic and interdisciplinary approach to addressing key challenges in Net Zero, AI and Big Data, Technology Touching Life, Future Telecoms, Quantum Technologies and more. Both DiveIn and CHEDDAR share a commitment to equipping the next generation of researchers with the tools and knowledge to innovate in fields ranging from smart grids to healthcare systems, transport, and security.

This CDT programme is designed to bridge the gap between academia and real-world application, offering PhD candidates a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research, industry partnerships, and external collaborations. DiveIn is focused on bringing together diverse teams to tackle interdisciplinary, mission-driven challenges at the forefront of research. During the 4-year PhD, students will take part in a training programme which integrates didactic, self-directed, empirical, and peer learning, ensuring a holistic training experience.

At its core, the programme aims to develop solutions for tomorrow’s challenges by fostering interdisciplinary research and promoting collaboration between diverse teams, to address critical challenges and drive innovation in key areas of national and global importance.
