Esma won the prestigious Imperial College Student Academic Choice Award in the category “Best Graduate Teaching Assistant”. The award is university-wide and given out to one person per year only. Well done, Esma!

Under the Building Research Bridges programme of the American University of Beirut, Wolfram gave a PhD short course on Robust Optimization as well as a seminar on The Distributionally Robust Vehicle Routing Problem during his visit at AUB on Feb 12-18, 2019.

Melvyn Sim and I will be the cluster chairs for Robust Optimization at the Sixth International Conference on Continuous Optimization (ICCOPT) in Berlin, August 3-8, 2019.

Wolfram gave an invited seminar on Distributionally Robust Vehicle Routing at EPFL on Dec 14th, 2018.

Wolfram will organise a mini symposium on Data-Driven Distributionally Robust Optimization as well as give a semi-plenary talk at the 15th International Conference on Stochastic Programming (ICSP) taking place July 29 – August 2, 2019 in Trondheim, Norway.

Dr Esma Koca passed her viva without any corrections yesterday! Her thesis, “Product Release Strategies in the Digital Economy”, revisits several conventional economic models in the light of new constraints and opportunities that arise in the digital economy.
