Dominic Keehan

Post-Doctoral Researcher

I completed a BEng (Hons) in Engineering Science (2021) and a PhD in Operations Research (2025), both at the University of Auckland. During my PhD I worked on problems arising in production planning/resource allocation. For instance, we show how accounting for nonstationarity using the Wasserstein distance can lead to better forecasts of dairy commodity prices. I enjoy understanding otherwise intractable problems from a low-dimensional perspective and leveraging this understanding to improve operational decision making. Currently I am working on topics in interpretable optimization and Markov decision processes. Please see my personal website for more information.
