My research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, evolutionary computation, biologically-inspired algorithms, fuzzy systems identification, optimization of multi-objective / combinatorial / dynamic / constrained problems.

I am involved in an international research project ALLOW Ensembles focusing on the development of collective adaptive systems (CASs) based on the concepts of entities, cells and ensembles.

I am also a member of IEEE CIS Task Force on Optimization Methods in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering (OMBB)
