Vacancies in AESE – Jobs

We are seeking to appoint two Post Docs to carry out Cyber-Physical Systems research with a particular focus on applications that monitor and control critical infrastructures.

Duties and responsibilities

One position will join the ‘Science of Sensor Systems Software’ (S4) project to contribute towards a unifying science for smarter sensor based systems. S4 aims to deliver new philosophies and techniques for the development and deployment of verifiable, reliable, sensor systems that operate in uncertain, multiple and multi-scale environments (see: http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/research/S4/) based at Imperial College’s South Kensington campus.

The second position will be part of the Data Centric Engineering stream in the Alan Turing Institute based at Imperial College’s South Kensington campus (see: https://www.turing.ac.uk/research/research-programmes/data-centric-engineering ) examining sensor/actuator based systems for resilient and robust infrastructures.

Applicants should have a proven research record with publications in A-ranked venues and have a PhD in a related subject. In particular they should have an understanding of sensor/actuator systems and have a specialism in at least one of the following:

  • Sensor Network system security
  • Sensor Network system reliability
  • FIRWARE open source platform (usage experience)
  • Control mathematics

The ability to code embedded systems and wireless networks or have a Critical Infrastructure background is an advantage. For further information see: http://wp.doc.ic.ac.uk/aese/ or email research related enquiries to Prof J.A. McCann j.mccann@imperial.ac.uk
