3) Computer Vision

Arguably, computer vision is one of the hardest problems in computer science with a tremendous amount of applications. My research in computer vision focuses on:

  1. Face recognition and analysis. The analysis and recognition of human faces is very challenging problem due to its highly deformable nature, the variations of its appearance (due to illumination and pose), and the presence of occlusions. To this end, we develop robust methods for face analysis and recognition in challenging real-world conditions.
  2. Deformable models for face alignment. We develop robust methods for (personalised) facial deformable models that perform accurately on unconstrained real-word conditions.
