Communications Systems (RF) Engineer/Consultant/Developer
Salary: highly competitive in line with Industrial Research levels
We are seeking to hire a Communications Engineer to be part of the CogniSense project examining industrial machinery sensing through the analysis of RF signals led by Professor Julie McCann in conjunction with Imperial Innovations (the technology commercialisation partner for Imperial College London). The work builds upon our CogniSense technology that has been shown to identify interesting phenomena in industrial machinery and the aim of this position is to raise the Technology Readiness Levels of CogniSense to be applied industrially. The position combines communications and signal processing research with systems development and there is a strong opportunity to be part of a dynamic team producing new IP with the potential to form a spin-off start-up company.

A track record in Communications Engineering and signal processing is essential for this post. In particular the following skills are required:
- Experience in developing signal processing algorithms and architectures.
- Experience of Radio Frequency (RF) communication theory and communication system design
- Experience of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
- Working knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies.
A PhD (or equivalent) in an area pertinent to the subject areas above will be an advantage. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven track record practical aspects of signal processing and who have experience working in industrial settings. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to organise your work with minimal supervision and prioritise work to meet deadlines. All applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English.
