Hello, my name is Pamela Thays. I’m a computer engineer from Brazil and since October 2015, I’m a PhD student in Computer Science under the supervision of Prof Julie McCann. In my research, I develop energy optimizations in wireless sensor networks, studying ways of using context-awareness concepts to the innovative field of energy neutral operation for energy harvesting systems. My interests in research goes from sensors, mobile devices, smartphones, energy consumption in embedded systems, and green computing to context-awareness, machine learning and optimization techniques.
I have a degree (BSc) in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco, UFPE, and a Master Degree (MSc) in Computer Science from the same university. UFPE is located in Recife, my hometown, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Currently, I’m a member of the brazilian scholarship program Science Without Borders.
